Terms of Use
Effective July 26, 2026 · MetroGnome for iOS, published by Polite Cactus, LLC
These terms govern your use of the MetroGnome application for iOS ("the app"), published by Polite Cactus, LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you obtained the app through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the extent these terms don't say otherwise.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own practice and enjoyment. The app, including its artwork, sounds, gnomes and code, is our intellectual property (or licensed to us) and stays that way — please don't copy, resell, or redistribute it, or extract its assets.
The free version and ads
The app is free to use and supported by advertising. Ads are provided by third-party networks and we don't control which specific ads appear. By design, an interstitial ad never interrupts active playback — if one becomes due while the metronome runs, it waits until you stop.
Remove Ads Forever (in-app purchase)
- A one-time, non-consumable purchase — not a subscription. It permanently disables banner and interstitial ads.
- Payment is processed by Apple against your Apple Account. We never see your payment details.
- The purchase follows your Apple Account: use Settings → Restore Purchases in the app on your other devices.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their App Store terms — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Practice, not a guarantee
MetroGnome is a practice tool. We work hard to keep the click sample-accurate and the tuner honest, but the app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we can't promise it will be error-free or meet every need. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer the app except where the law says we can't stop you, don't use it to violate anyone's rights, and don't try to interfere with the ad or purchase systems. That's it — otherwise, practice away.
Changes to the app and these terms
We may update the app and these terms over time. Material changes to the terms will be posted at this address with a new effective date; continuing to use the app after that means you accept them. If you don't, your remedy is simple and we'll be sad: delete the app.
